GH man hurt in car/tree crash on Robbins Road

A Grand Haven man suffered facial injuries on Thursday after his car left the road and slammed into a tree, according to Deputy Tim Smith of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department. Joseph Corbett, 18, was driving his 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora eastbound on Robbins Road about 12:06 p.m. when he veered off to the south side of the road and took out a row of mailboxes, said Sgt. John Wolffis of the OCSD.

His car came back onto the road, crossed the opposing lane as well as Coleman Street, traveled through a ditch, across a yard into a wooded patch where he hit a large tree.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, he said.
