Home in Mich. sex case unfit for human habitation

Authorities said the home where a 13-year-old Michigan girl whose stillborn son was found in a friend's attic and the 16-year-old relative who may have impregnated her is unfit for human habitation. WSGW-AM reported Huron County Sheriff's Department deputies and the Thumb Animal Shelter on Thursday afternoon removed 11 malnourished dogs from the home in Huron Township, near Port Hope. The station reported people at the home at first refused to leave, but later accepted temporary shelter from members of their church.

The boy is charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Hospital staff has determined the girl had been pregnant, the radio station reported. The body was later found stashed in an attic of a Port Hope home about 110 miles north of Detroit where the girl had been staying.
