A 22-year-old Allendale man was arrested on alcohol-related charges early Saturday morning after the car he was driving crashed into an apartment building in the 6400 block of Lake Michigan Drive. Garvelink said the apartment building, which was occupied at the time, incurred significant damage.

Neither the driver of the car nor the occupant of the apartment were injured, Garvelink said.

Garvelink said a similar incident occurred earlier in the morning in Polkton Township. He said a 27-year-old man was driving south on 48th Avenue when he ran a stop sign, left the roadway and struck an occupied residence.

Nobody was injured in this incident, and the driver was arrested on alcohol-related charges, Garvelink said.
