1 man injured in 2-vehicle crash in Spring Lake Township

A 43-year-old Spring Lake Township man was taken to the hospital for evaluation Tuesday evening after his pickup truck was rear-ended by another vehicle, police said. Jeffrey Rundquist had stopped his Ford F-150 shortly after 6 p.m. to make a left turn into Hidden Oaks mobile home park, 14787 Apple Drive, when a Chevrolet Prizm driven by Theodore Ostradick struck the pickup truck, Ottawa County Deputy Scott Ippel said. Ostradick, an 84-year-old Spring Lake Township man, didn't see Rundquist's pickup in time to stop, Ippel said.

Rundquist was taken by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital after complaining of neck and back pain, Ippel said, adding that his injuries were likely not serious.

Ostradick was cited for failing to stop within an assured clear distance, Ippel said.

Spring Lake Township firefighters assisted at the scene of the crash.
