GH man charged with taking items from storage building

A Grand Haven man was arraigned Friday on charges of breaking into storage units on Taylor Street in Port Sheldon Township, an Ottawa County Sheriff's deputy said. Brett Kenton Roberts, 47, was arrested in Grand Haven on Thursday night after he was allegedly seen breaking into storage units at 14707 Taylor St. earlier that day, said Ottawa County Sheriff's Lt. Mark Bennett. A witness provided a description of Roberts' vehicle, which led to his arrest, Bennett said.

Roberts allegedly stole golf clubs, construction and camping equipment, and assorted household goods, Bennett said. The total value of these materials has not been determined, police said.

Roberts is being held at the Ottawa County Jail on a $7,500 bond on charges of entry without breaking with intent, Bennett said. Other charges are possible, as the investigation is ongoing.
