Marne man hospitalized after crashing motorcycle

A 55-year-old Marne man was hospitalized after losing control of his motorcycle on Business Interstate 196 near Zeeland on Sunday morning, police said. Richard Jennings lost control of his 2001 Harley-Davidson at around 11:20 a.m. while riding west, Sgt. John Wolffis of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department said, and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Jennings was treated at the scene by Zeeland Township Fire Rescue and was taken to Zeeland Community Hospital by AMR Ambulance, Wolffis said. He was in stable condition Sunday afternoon, Wolffis said. An updated condition could not be obtained this morning.

Neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the accident, and Jennings was wearing a helmet, Wolffis said.
