Two Holton men charged in armed robbery of Robinson Twp. store

Two Holton men pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges in connection with the armed robbery of a Robinson Township store on Tuesday. David Lee Eslick, 23, and Scott Lee Richardson, 26, were both charged with one count of armed robbery in the Tuesday afternoon incident at the Oaklea Party Store, 10398 N. Cedar Drive. Eslick was also charged with felony firearms and his bond was set at $45,000 cash or surety. Richardson's bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety. Both are lodged in the Ottawa County Jail.

Eslick and Richardson both demanded preliminary exams when arraigned by video Wednesday afternoon in Ottawa County 58th District Court.

Judge Richard Kloote, in setting the higher bond for Eslick, said: “You are the more responsible. I understand you are the one who had the gun.”
The judge also noted that Eslick had one prior arrest in Ottawa County for a domestic violence charge in 2006.
