Four arrested in armed robbery

Four people were arrested following an alleged armed robbery at an Allendale-area apartment Sunday night, according to Sgt. Keith Garvelink of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department. Police were called the 10000 block of 48th Avenue about 10:19 p.m. Sunday to the apartment where the 21-year-old victim said he was robbed at gunpoint, Garvelink said. The victim was able to give a description to police and the suspects were pulled over as they headed east on M-45 in Tallmadge Township, Garvelink said.

Evidence, including a handgun, was seized from the suspect vehicle, Garvelink said. The four suspects — two from the Grand Rapids area and two from the Detroit area — were all lodged in the Ottawa County Jail on robbery and weapons charges, Garvelink said. Their names were not being released pending arraignment.

The incident is still under investigation.
