Two hurt in Georgetown Township accident

Two men were injured in a two-car crash late Wednesday night on Fillmore Street west of 28th Avenue, according to Sgt. Keith Garvelink of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department. The driver of one vehicle - Alexander Trinh, 21, of Holland Township - was listed this morning in stable condition at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids, Garvelink reported. The other driver - Craig Boillat, 26, of Grandville - was in fair condition at Spectrum Hospital this morning, a hospital spokesperson said.

Police said that Trinh was driving his Mitsubishi Eclipse east on Fillmore, west of 28th Avenue, at 10:42 p.m., when he entered a curve at a high rate of speed and lost control. The car rotated and entered the westbound lane, going into the path of Boillat’s Chrysler 300, Garvelink said. The cars collided and went off the north side of the road.

Both men were taken to Spectrum Hospital by ambulance, Garvelink said, and Boillat suffered “significant orthopedic injuries.” Both men were wearing seatbelts.
