Gunman arrested after allegedly threatening neighbor in mobile home park

A 21-year-old Crockery Township man was arrested late Sunday evening after a dispute that ended with him allegedly pointing a gun at his neighbor, said Sgt. Bob Ruster of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department. The OCSD and Michigan State Police responded to the park, 13251 State Road, when a 38-year-old woman called 911 and told them that her Forsythia Drive neighbor was pointing a shotgun at her, Ruster said.

Police surrounded the area and evacuated residents from nearby mobile homes. They tackled the man after he set the 16-gauge shotgun down on the front porch, Ruster said.

Paramedics checked the suspect, but he was not injured.

The man was arrested on charges of felony assault, felony firearms, disorderly conduct and indecent exposure, Ruster said.

His name was being withheld pending arraignment.
