Police investigate Sunday shooting in Muskegon

A 25-year-old Muskegon Township man was hospitalized in stable condition after being shot in the torso late Sunday afternoon, according to Capt. Andrew Olson of the Muskegon Police Department. Police were called to a home in the 500 block of Houston Avenue around 5 p.m. Sunday, and found the man had been shot and was being tended by his wife in the backyard. The man was taken by ambulance to a Muskegon hospital.

Police are unsure of a motive behind the shooting and the investigation is continuing, Olson said. No suspects are in custody at this time, police said this morning.
