More than a dozen pet rats were found dumped in a park in Ludington.
The Ludington Daily News reported 11 live rats and two dead ones turned up Monday afternoon in Copeyon Park. Mason County Animal Control Officer Joe Marion and Lakeshore Animal Friends volunteer Cassi Johnson collected the live rats, and city workers removed the dead ones.
Officials were looking for homes for the animals.
Marion said someone noticed bedding and exercise wheels dumped in the park and contacted animal control earlier in the day.
