5th woman reports sexual assault in Ann Arbor

Authorities are investigating a reported fifth attack in a string of sexual assaults in and around downtown Ann Arbor. AnnArbor.com reported Friday that a 26-year-old Ypsilanti woman told police she was attacked late Monday night in a parking structure's elevator. The woman said she came forward after seeing media coverage of the sexual assaults and did not seek medical attention. Police said the sexual assault reports began July 15 and that each of the victims was alone at the time of the attacks.

Police earlier this week warned people walking at night to be cautious. City officials said they plan to increase the frequency of patrols at downtown parking structures.
