“She disclosed to a friend she was sexually abused by a neighbor,” Detective Ed Kolakowski of the Kent County Sheriff’s Department said. “Her friend told her this is something that needs to be told to her parents. She disclosed this to her parents, who in turn contacted the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.”
Police said they have no other complaints about Carfine, but detectives said they aren’t ruling out the possibility.
Carfine is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, which includes penetration.
