One man was taken to Zeeland Community Hospital following a scaffold accident Thursday morning at his home, said Robinson Township Fire Chief Paul VanVelzen.
J.B. Smith and another man were shingling a building at 9861 Pierce St. when the scaffold on which they were working detached from the side of the building. The men fell about 7 feet to the ground, the chief said.
One man landed on his feet and was OK, VanVelzen said. Smith caught his thumb on something and received a “nasty slice,” he said.
Smith was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
