Jenison man crashes small car into parked truck

A Jenison man was seriously injured after crashing his car into a parked truck early Saturday morning, according to Sgt. Keith Garvelink of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department. Elijah Robert Bouwens, 26, was driving west on Baldwin near Mill Street when his Mini-Cooper crossed the turn lanes and two eastbound lanes of traffic, before leaving the road and hitting a Freightliner semitrailer truck parked on private property. Bouwens was taken by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids.

A Jenison man was seriously injured after crashing his car into a parked truck early Saturday morning, according to Sgt. Keith Garvelink of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Elijah Robert Bouwens, 26, was driving west on Baldwin near Mill Street when his Mini-Cooper crossed the turn lanes and two eastbound lanes of traffic, before leaving the road and hitting a Freightliner semitrailer truck parked on private property.

Bouwens was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.
