Fruitport Twp. man found dead

The Muskegon County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a 20-year old Fruitport Township man following what detectives call an underage drinking party. The party was Friday night east of Muskegon, in the woods off Wolf Lake Road, near Evanston Avenue, police said. The investigation started Saturday morning when Travis Trowbridge was reported missing.

Fruitport Township Police, Muskegon County Sheriff’s Department and state police searched for Trowbridge on Sunday. They found his unresponsive body, face down in an area of shallow water, a short distance from where the party was held.

Sheriff’s detectives said they will continue to investigate the cause of death and who provided alcohol to minors at the party.
