Pilot killed in plane crash at Tulip City Airport

Police said the pilot of a single-engine plane was killed when his aircraft crashed near the runway at Tulip City Airport on Thursday night. The crash happened on the northeast end of the airport around 6:45 p.m. Police have not released the name of the pilot, as they were still trying to notify his family members. The Holland Sentinel reported on its website that the pilot was a 60-year-old Gobles man who was practicing "touch-and-go landings' at the Holland airport; and he was the only occupant of the experimental, home-built plane.
