Woman sentenced for embezzling from GH gallery

A Fruitport woman was put on probation for three years when she was sentenced Monday in Ottawa County Circuit Court for embezzlement from a downtown Grand Haven business. Patricia Lou Shappee, 24, 391 Park St., had pleaded guilty to embezzlement over $1,000, but less than $20,000. She was also ordered to pay restitution of $25,452, as well as fines and costs of $198. Lt. Joe Boyle of the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety said the embezzlement occurred at a business at 207 Washington Ave.
