Bicyclist struck by car on M-45

Jack Beck, 60, was riding a bicycle west on the shoulder of M-45, west of 128th Avenue, just before 10 p.m., when he was struck by a westbound car, police said.

Beck was taken by a North Ottawa Community Hospital ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. An official there said this morning that Beck was treated and released.

The driver of the car — Joe Vincent, 41, of Wyoming — was not injured, police said.

The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet and had no lights on his bicycle, police said. He was also riding near the fog line at the time of the accident.

The accident is still under investigation.
