Prosecutors said he left a Muskegon tattoo store and went to an ex-girlfriend’s home after she didn’t show up for scheduled tattoo work.

Garrett is accused of hitting the woman with a shotgun multiple times while she was holding her young child. He’s also accused of shooting the woman’s cell phone so she couldn’t call police.

The woman eventually escaped from the home through a window with her child.

Garrett was lodged in the Muskegon County Jail. He’s due back in court Nov. 7.
