The girl, whose name was not released due to privacy laws, was taken by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital, Freeman said. A condition report was not available.
Freeman said the girl was crossing the street in the 800 block of Sheldon Road about 7:45 p.m. when she was hit by a car driven by a 41-year-old Grand Haven man.
“He was driving very cautiously,” Freeman said. “Speed was not a factor.”
Freeman said the girl did not look before going out into the street with two other juveniles.
Residential trick-or-treating was going on in Grand Haven at the time.
