Police were called to the southbound lanes just north of the VanWagoner Road exit, where one car hit the guardrail and two other cars slid off the road.

A pregnant woman with minor injuries was taken by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital to be checked out, said state Trooper Shawn Benoit said.

Benoit said the one car lost control on the wet pavement during a snow squall and hit the guardrail. The two other cars slid off the road while trying to avoid the first car.

Benoit said there were no other injuries.
