Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies said the accident happened at about 8 a.m. at 18th Avenue and Port Sheldon Street in Georgetown Township.
Police said Amy Vandeguchte, 42, of Hudsonville was driving north on 18th Avenue when she failed to stop at a red light. Her vehicle struck the driver’s side of 20-year-old Beau Heimer’s vehicle, which was traveling west on Port Sheldon Street.
Police said Heimer was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his truck on impact. The truck continued to roll and snapped a utility pole in half.
Vandeguchte was wearing a seat belt, and her 6-year-old passenger was in booster seat, police said. Vandeguchte suffered minor injuries, and her passenger was taken to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment of minor injuries.
