Penny Miller was reported missing in 2007. Investigators last April found her remains near the Hartford home of Austin Bradley Austin, 35 miles west of Kalamazoo. They had been in a relationship.

Austin appeared in court Friday and now faces at least 10 years in prison when he is sentenced on Dec. 19. A man who says he helped bury the victim’s body implicated Austin and was charged with being an accessory to a felony after the fact.
