The Holland Sentinel reported that Donna DeBoe, 54, was struck and killed by a sport utility vehicle.

Police said the Zeeland woman was riding her bike on State Street, when the SUV entered the intersection of the I-196 business loop and hit her at about 12:45 a.m.

Police were unable to identify the woman because she did not have identification on her, WZZM-TV reported.

The Sentinel reported the driver of the SUV

was not injured. There were no other passengers inside.

Police said the SUV had the right of way with a flashing yellow light, and the pavement was wet at the time from falling rain. Zeeland Police Chief Bill Olney said DeBoe was wearing dark clothing.

“I think the driver just did not see her,” he said.
