Two of those people went by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital, while one driver said she was waiting for a friend to take her to get checked.

Sara Paquin of Nunica said she and her brother, Dan, were going to the Secretary of State office in Grand Haven when the chain-reaction accident happened about 11 a.m.

“It was weird because the light was green and all of a sudden everybody stopped. I stopped and the semi hit me,” Paquin said as she held an ice pack to her forehead. “I hit my nose on the steering wheel.”
Paquin’s car jumped forward and hit a sport utility vehicle in front of her. That pushed the SUV into another SUV.

The drivers of the SUVs suffered minor injuries. One of those drivers was loaded onto a backboard and taken to a nearby ambulance.
