The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department reported that a 68-year-old man and a 33-year-old man were charged Wednesday with assault and battery.

The fight occurred about 1 p.m. Wednesday after the men said another man “showed them the middle finger” as he backed a trailer up to a home in Gobles, about 40 miles southwest of Grand Rapids. Police said the men got out of a truck and began to argue with the third man and another man at the house. The fight soon followed in the frontyard.

The victims suffered cuts and bruises.
