Daniel Parker faces up to six months in jail after pleading guilty Wednesday. The 36-year-old said he lost control of his car while reaching for a cell phone with his right hand.
Parker’s car struck two teens who were pushing a motor bike on a two-lane road in August. Zachary Barber, 16, was killed; and 14-year-old Donald Proctor, 14, suffered a broken leg.
Parker was originally charged with manslaughter with a motor vehicle, which carries a tougher punishment.
