A store clerk at the store, 160 N. River St. at the intersection of Douglas Avenue, alerted police at 6:35 a.m. that someone armed with a knife had entered the store and demanded money, said Lt. Mark Bennett.

“After the suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled westbound on foot from the scene,” Bennett said.

Nobody was injured in the incident, Bennett said.

The suspect is described as a male, about 6 feet tall with a thin, athletic build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and white tennis shoes. No other information was available.

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT, or leave a tip online at www.mosotips.com.
