Police were sent to the 300 block of Washington Avenue late in the afternoon after receiving a call of three suspicious males in the area. Police made contact with the men in the area between Chase Bank and the post office, Freeman said. They arrested a Muskegon-area man, about age 40, for possession of a gun.

The man was lodged in the Ottawa County Jail pending arraignment on weapons charges.

Freeman said there were no incidents and the men had not gone into the bank with the gun.
