Police said Nathanael Pelkey, 29, of Berrien Springs had been living with a friend in the area for a few days. His sister, Cindy Pelkey, said he had been looking to work and go back to college in Grand Rapids.
His body was found Wednesday afternoon.
Police said they believe his death was an accidental drowning and he may have been trying to cross the pond near Willowbrook dormitory.
