The Detroit Free Press reported Wednesday that Southgate police have confirmed they are looking into the claim made by a co-owner of Dasilva’s Pawn and Exchange.

WXYZ-TV earlier reported that the woman made the offer Monday to a clerk at the shop.

Co-owner Al Hassan told the Free Press the girl appeared to be 9 to 11 years old. Her mother wanted the shop not to sell the laptop she pawned for $120.
