Lt. Renee Freeman of the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety said the two male suspects are believed to have been the same persons who smashed car windows and stole purses from cars in Grand Haven and at The Lakes Mall in Fruitport Township, she said. The suspects then used the credit cards to make purchases.

Freeman said two of the victims had their cars parked in a church lot at the corner of Fifth Street and Franklin Avenue in Grand Haven.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is also investigating similar incidents, she said.

Anyone with information on the incidents or the suspects is asked to call GHDPS at 842-3460 or Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT (745368). A tip may also be submitted online at www.mosotips.com.
