Ottawa County Central Dispatch said police were called to a home on Roberts Court at around 5:45 a.m. A man wearing a ski mask and armed with a handgun confronted an employee of the Family Fare grocery store in Coopersville as the man was leaving his home to go to work, police said.

The manager was forced into his own car and was taken to the store, where he was ordered to open the store’s safe and give up the cash. The suspect was waiting outside.

The employee was forced back into his vehicle, but was released a short time later after a second masked suspect drove up in an older white pickup truck, and the two suspects drove away together.

They were last seen southbound on 68th Avenue in the pickup truck without a truck bed.

The suspects were described as white males, and 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 in height.

Police said they are investigating to see if the robbery was an “inside job.”

Anyone who sees the suspects, or has information, is asked to call 911 or Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT.
