Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said the unidentified deputy remains on the job, but in a new assignment.
Wickersham told the Detroit Free Press that Romeo police are handling the investigation and his department will wait until the probe either takes a turn or a warrant has been issued before moving to the “next level.”
No further details were released.
Authorities said the club contacted police about two weeks ago. Police said there are multiple suspects, including a sheriff’s office employee.
