Dogs, small alligator removed from Muskegon home

Authorities said they've removed more than six dogs and a number of exotic animals including a small alligator from a Muskegon home.

Police were called Thursday after a report that six pit bulls were tied up outside the home. Officers said they found more dogs inside as well as two dead snakes, a dead spider, some iguanas and the 1- to 2-foot-long alligator.

Police and animal welfare officials were investigating.
