The fire at the Village Green mobile home park, 1700 Robbins Road, was reported at 10:25 p.m. The first Grand Haven Department of Public Safety officers on the scene reported heavy black smoke coming from the home at Lot 402.

Officers said they were able to extinguish the fire soon after entering the home.

The homeowner was treated at the scene and later transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital for precautionary measures, according to GHDPS.

“The fire was contained to the rear portion of the building,” Lt. Joe Boyle said. “The rear of the residence sustained heavy smoke and fire damage.”

The cause of the fire is being investigated, Boyle said.

The Grand Haven Township Fire-Rescue Department and NOCH paramedics assisted at the scene.
