Capt. Rick Yonker said the incident occurred between 8 a.m. and 7:35 p.m. Thursday at the residence, located on the 400 block of Woodlawn.

“The residents entered through their garage to find the door into their home was ajar,” Yonker said.

There was a broken pane of glass, and the door was broken to gain entry. After investigating the scene, it doesn’t appear that any items were stolen from the home, Yonker noted.

“There was another attempt to enter through another door, but access was not gained,” he said.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department K-9 team was called, but dogs weren’t able to track a scent past the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT.
