Emergency crews called to a work site at 759 Construction Court at about 4:40 p.m. found Robert Gray of Fairbanks, Ind., pinned under a couple of 400-pound rolls of roofing material, Ruster said.

The accident occurred when a hi-low driver removed a load of the material off a flat-bed trailer, Ruster said. Additional loads then broke free and landed on Gray.

The rolls of roofing were lifted off Gray by the hi-low driver.

Gray suffered head and leg injuries, Ruster said, and was taken by ambulance to Zeeland Hospital. He was listed in stable condition this morning.

The incident remains under investigation.
