The child was taken to Holland Hospital last week, then transferred to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment of broken bones and a closed head injury. Police said they do not believe the injuries were accidental.

Lt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department said the father, Ryan Kupres, 27, is not cooperating with detectives.

In 2008, Kupres spent one year in jail for abuse of a three-week old child. The baby also suffered broken bones, but was able to recover.

Kupres is not under arrest, and investigators are not calling him a suspect. Bennett said detectives want to talk to Kupres about his daughter.
