Police said a white male — about 5-foot, 7-inches tall with a medium build — walked into the bank at the corner of Riley and Beeline streets at around 2:30 p.m. He implied to a teller that he had a weapon and demanded money, although no actual weapon was seen, said Lt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.

After taking the cash, the suspect fled from the bank on foot and headed east, witnesses said. He was wearing a light blue ball cap, two-tone blue windbreaker-type jacket and shorts, Bennett said.

Sheriff's deputies and the department's K-9 unit were unable to find the suspect.

Police said there were no injuries in the robbery, which remains under investigation. Bennett said late Wednesday afternoon that police were reviewing surveillance video of the crime scene.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT.
