Holland Police and members of the West Michigan Enforcement Team, an anti-drug task force made up of several different departments, arrested LaDale Antonio Brassel, 22, Wednesday on a parole absconder warrant out of Illinois. Brassel was also held on drug charges, as officers said he was in possession of marijuana when he was arrested.

Brassel appeared in court Friday, where prosecutors added charges of "felon in possession of a firearm" and "discharge of a weapon from a vehicle" to the drug charges.

Police said they believe Brassel was the one who fired a gun at a group of people in the 100 block of East 21st Street on the night of March 20. No one was hit, but officers believe at least seven gunshots were fired.

Brassel is being held in a $102,000 bond.

Investigators said no one else has been arrested for the March 20 incident. They believe an argument the previous night led to the shooting, but they said the specifics are not clear because people involved in the argument are not cooperating with police.
