Fruitport police looking for help in credit card fraud cases

The Fruitport Township Police Department is looking for help in identifying possible suspects in separate credit card theft and fraud cases over the weekend.

text-autospace:none" class="MsoNormal"> color:windowtext">  color:windowtext">A female victim reported to police that multiple credit cards she owns had been used fraudulently at various locations in Muskegon County and Ottawa County.

text-autospace:none" class="MsoNormal"> color:windowtext">  color:windowtext">She had been shopping at JC Penney, 5690 Harvey and Meijer, 5300 Harvey on Saturday when she discovered her wallet had been stolen. Credit cards that were in the wallet were subsequently used.

text-autospace:none" class="MsoNormal"> color:windowtext">  color:windowtext">Police are working with Meijer and JC Penney Loss Prevention Departments to review surveillance videos related to this incident regarding the original theft.

text-autospace:none" class="MsoNormal"> color:windowtext">  color:windowtext">Police are also following up with other businesses where the credit cards were fraudulently used.

text-autospace:none" class="MsoNormal"> color:windowtext">  color:windowtext">Another incident took place between Sunday night and Monday morning in the 2800 block of East Ellis.

text-autospace:none" class="MsoNormal"> color:windowtext">  color:windowtext">Police said the offender(s) entered an unlocked garage and stole multiple items from unlocked vehicles inside the garage. One of the items stolen was a credit card that was later used at a retail store.

text-autospace:none" class="MsoNormal"> color:windowtext">  color:windowtext">Anyone who has any information, or who recognizes any of these people is asked to contact police.
