An 82-year-old woman, a passenger in one of the cars, was taken by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital, Freeman said. The drivers of the two cars were not injured, Freeman said.

Another Grand Haven woman was driving her car south on Beechtree, when a westbound car driven by a 68-year-old Leroy woman failed to stop for a red light and crashed into the southbound car.

The injured woman was a passenger in the westbound car.

All three people were wearing seat belts, police said, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
