The driver, Coral Jean Wenell, 63, of Florida, and her passenger, Dena Bolt, 89, of Fruitport, were taken by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital, said Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Wenell was driving the Beetle west on Osborn, stopped at the sign, then proceeded into the path of a northbound vehicle, a 2004 Dodge Ram truck driven by Thomas Bakale, 48, of Grand Haven, Austin said. Bakale was not injured.

All of the occupants wore seatbelts, Austin said.

Wenell was ticketed for failure to yield.
