Officers were dispatched at about 11:36 p.m. May 16 to a store at 3416 Henry St. after a clerk there determined two customers tried paying their bill with counterfeit $20 bills.

When the fake currency was denied, the suspects took the bills and left.

Police later learned the suspects attempted to pass the bills off at another gas station.

One suspect is a black male with short hair, clean-shaven, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a black White Sox baseball hat, black T-shirt and blue jeans.

The second suspect is a white female about 20 years old, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with a thin build and long blonde hair.

Police said the suspects drove a red two-door car.

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Observer at 231-722-7463 or Norton Shores police at 231-733-2691.
