The trailer has short metal sides and a folding ramp on the back. Police said it was stolen sometime between May 25 and May 30.

Anyone with information that could help lead to an arrest in this incident is asked to contact police at 231-865-8477, or Silent Observer at 231-72-CRIME.

Police said owners of trailers are encouraged to take proactive steps to reduce the opportunity for someone to steal a trailer, such as: use a hitch and/or wheel lock, and chain and lock the trailer to an immovable object.

Police also encourage the following to help identify stolen trailers when they are recovered: have a photograph of your trailer; clearly mark your trailer so it can be easily identified, in both obvious and discreet locations; and have identifying information about your trailer readily available.
