“A nice pair of sunglasses was taken from a car on Grandview Street,” said Sgt. Curt Theune of the Spring Lake/Ferrysburg Police Department. “Some loose change and prescription medication was taken from a vehicle parked on Fall Street.
Theune said his department has received five reports of items being stolen from unlocked cars.
There were also reports of cars being entered, but nothing stolen, all in the south central part of the village.
“We want to remind people to make sure you lock your vehicles,” Theune said. “We want to be pro-active instead of reactive.”
Residents were also encouraged to pay attention to any potentially suspicious situation and report it, Theune said. People should call 911 if they see or hear anything suspicious, or their dogs start barking.
Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to call the Spring Lake/Ferrysburg Police Department at 842-1889, or Silent Observer at 1-887-88 SILENT (745368).

Locking of cars is really encourage everywhere. This is for the safety of everybody. Joe Aldeguer
Got that right Joe. This isn't the Tri-City Area of the 70's anymore. Andy and Barney don't live here anymore. Not the Mayberry RFD of yesteryear.
