3 hurt in 2-car crash early Wednesday

A two-car crash in Holland Township on Wednesday morning sent three people to the hospital.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department said a man was driving east on Quincy and stopped at the stop sign for 120th Avenue just before 5 a.m. As he proceeded through the intersection, a woman driving with her 7-month-old baby missed her stop on 120th and crashed into the man's car.

The man had two passengers in his car and they were all on their way to work. Police said it was difficult getting the driver extricated from the smashed car. He was pinned at the lower extremities; however, he was conscious and talking the entire time.

The driver as transported to Holland Hospital by the AeroMed helicopter. The two passengers in his car were taken there by ambulance.

Authorities said no one sustained life-threatening injuries. The woman and her baby were not injured.
